Police arrested a teacher on Wednesday on the charge of molesting a minor girl student in a private school in Purola. They said they acted on the molestation complaint lodged at Purola police station. Subsequently, police registered a case against the accused under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and 3/4 POCSO Act.
Taking a serious note of the crime, the superintendent of police, Uttarkashi, Arpan Yaduvanshi gave direction for immediate arrest of the accused. A team was formed under the supervision of the deputy superintendent of police, Badkot, Surendra Singh Bhandari. Led by the head of the Purola police station Mohan Kathait, the team arrested the accused from a petrol pump in Purola.
Kathait informed that the accused teacher is Rakesh aged 35 years. He was later sent to jail, he added.
