In latest news from Doon, responding to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s exhortation to collect dried pine needles (piruls)-deemed to be the principal trigger of wildfires because of their highly inflammable nature-and take money in lieu of it as per the State government scheme, the villagers are coming forward to profit from it which at the same time will help control wildfires which devastate forest floors.
