The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that a large number of people are thronging the Char Dham due to effective management by the government. The opposition is miffed at rising popularity of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and is hence resorting to propaganda, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said.
He said that the Dhami government has succeeded in making the pilgrims feel a sense of safety in Uttarakhand. People from across the nation are thronging the Char Dham. All past records were broken in the Yatra last year and this year new records are already being set, he said. “The opposition is unable to digest the rising popularity of CM Dhami across India and is resorting to propaganda against him. However, the people don’t trust such lies and are thronging the Char Dham in large numbers. Tourism and employment has increased due to the rising number of pilgrims. The situation in the Char Dham has changed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Dhami’s leadership. Earlier, the number of pilgrims used to be limited and there were various issues but the situation is different now. There are better roads, various agencies for safety, better arrangements for medical service and adequate arrangements for registration of pilgrims and medical check up now,” Chauhan said.
Terming the allegations levelled by the Congress baseless, he said that it is not worried about the health and convenience of pilgrims. The Congress is worried about the BJP taking credit for the new records which may be set in the Yatra this year, he added.
