UPCL gears up for 24×7 power supply in Char Dham

Following the orders of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding 24×7 power supply in the Char Dham, the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has swung into action. The managing director of UPCL, Anil Kumar Yadav said that a special team of technical experts comprising superintending engineer Shailendra Singh, executive engineer Mohan Mittal and assistant engineer Subham Kandwal has been sent to Badrinath. Similarly a team of SE, EE, chief engineer and director (Operations) is in Kedarnath. Yadav added that regional level officers are camping in Yamunotri and Gangotri for maintaining continuous power supply. He claimed that uninterrupted power supplies are being given to the Dhams.
The UPCL has divided Kedarnath area in four sectors, Gaurikund, Junglechatti, Bhimbali and Lincholi. Adequate number of employees and officers with necessary equipment is deployed in these sectors. The corporation has also set up a control room at headquarter level for Char Dhams. The control room is keeping a round the clock watch on power situation in the Dhams and in case of power interruption the supplies are being promptly restored.
The MD of UPCL will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams on Saturday to take stock of the situation.
