With the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appearing poised to form the next government at the Centre, the young adults of Dehradun expect the new government to prioritise education, health care, environment and employment opportunities. In light of the Lok Sabha election results announced on Tuesday, the young adults here expressed their hope that the new government will prioritise the key issues and work towards fulfilling them to contribute to the country’s development.

Young adult Sagar Nanda said that following the victory of the BJP in the Lok Sabha election, he believes that the government would prioritise societal welfare. He opined that this year’s election lacked significant issues. Still, he stressed that with the victory, the government must address key concerns such as education and the pressing need for improving the condition of the environment in the country.

Another youth Ananya Kurung said that employment opportunities have remained persistently low in both the State and the country for individuals like themselves. She hopes that the new government will take steps to enhance employment prospects. Additionally, she pointed out the need for the government to support and expand opportunities for entrepreneurship, as many motivated adults aspire to venture into entrepreneurship.

“Regardless of other issues, the new government should prioritise addressing the main challenges facing the country. They need to focus on improving the Indian education system and also invest in healthcare facilities with advanced technology for the benefit of the country,” another youth Manisha Verma said.

Apart from this, other youth said that they expect the new government to prioritise education and healthcare facilities and promote entrepreneurship in the country.
