Two people die in road accident in Chamoli

Two people died in a road accident at Jyolibagad in Langasu area of Chamoli district on Friday morning. The officials informed that the in-charge of the Gauchar police post called the rescue team of the State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) after getting information that a jeep carrying two people had fallen 50 metres down from the bridge. Both persons in the vehicle had died on the spot. A team under the supervision of the SDRF sub inspector Manmohan Singh reached the spot along with the required equipment. The team started the process to retrieve the bodies, brought them to the main road and handed them over to the district police. Both deceased belong to Maso village of Chamoli and were identified as Narendra Singh (38) who was driving the vehicle and Arvind Singh (35). The officials said that it appeared that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to which it fell down the bridge as per the people who witnessed the accident. The police have informed the families of the deceased and will hand over the bodies after the completion of the necessary legal procedure, they added.
