Char Dham pilgrim numbers continue to rise- visited by more than 21 lakh so far

The number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham shrines in Uttarakhand has continued to rise consistently. A total of 21,27,707 people have visited the Char Dham temples since Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri were reopened to the public on May 10 and Badrinath was reopened on May 12.
According to official figures, Kedarnath has continued to attract the highest number of pilgrims. As per official data 17,780 people visited Kedarnath on Wednesday. A total of 8,22,019 people have visited this temple in Rudraprayag district so far. In the Chamoli district, 24,630 people visited the Badrinath temple on Wednesday while a total of 5,42,310 people have visited this temple so far.
Similarly, in the Uttarkashi district, 8,105 people visited the Yamunotri temple on Wednesday while a total of 3,82,122 people have visited this temple so far. Further, 9,310 people visited Gangotri temple on Wednesday while a total of 3,81,256 people have visited this temple so far. It will be recalled that more than 56 lakh pilgrims had visited the Char Dham temples in 2023. The State government was confident that the record would be broken this year. Considering the number of pilgrims who have visited the Char Dham temples in about a month since their reopening, last year’s record is expected to be broken soon.
