The Bharatiya Janata Party State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam said that despite the low voter turnout, the party had succeeded in winning all the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand by a margin almost similar to the previous election. He said that this shows that the people approve the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the works done by the State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said this in the meeting of the party’s Lok Sabha State election management committee held here on Sunday.
Speaking at the meeting, Gautam said that the party had won the election due to the hard work of the party workers under the committee’s leadership. “Despite the low voter turnout we won in Uttarakhand by a margin of more than 12 lakh votes compared to the margin of about 14 lakh votes in the previous elections. There are many decisions taken by the State government which are historic and were later included in the party’s election manifesto,” he said. Appreciating the party’s election team, he exhorted them to attempt and work even better to maintain the possibility of achieving even better results in the future.
Addressing the gathering of party members, Dhami said that the election results show that the party has succeeded in fulfilling the responsibilities accorded to the Central and State governments by the people. The Modi government has executed various public welfare schemes in the interests of women, youth, farmers and the backward classes. He said that the people of the State had supported the party for the historic decisions like enactment of anti-conversion and anti-copying law along with Uniform Civil Code and other steps. “It is a matter of pride for us that various such decisions are being adopted in the nation with public support. The equations change in every election. Considering this, we have to set new challenges for ourselves and build up on the energy we have gained from this victory to maintain it in the future,” the CM said.
The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the party had won 47 seats in the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections while it had won from 60 Assembly constituencies in this election. He said that the suggestions which have come forward in the four meetings held on Saturday and Sunday will be discussed in detail and implemented in the party’s strategy for the future.
