In latest news from Doon, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will take part in the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebration slated on June 21 at Adi Kailash. This is the first time that the IDY is going to be observed in this high-altitude pilgrimage place-known as the abode of Lord Shiva-in Pithoragarh district. Meanwhile, the Pithoragarh district magistrate has directed the officers concerned to complete IDY preparations in time. The Ayush department is now busy in preparation. Earlier, IDY was scheduled to be observed in the FDI ground in Haldwani but the venue was changed in favour of Adi Kailash.
To recall, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Adi Kailash last year on pilgrimage and meditated and since then this sacred place has become a centre of spiritual and adventure tourism.
