In latest news from Doon, the long wait for rain amidst gruelling and dragging heat singing the State is about to end. The regional meteorological department has issued orange alert for torrential rain and gusty winds across the State.
As per the bulletin, several districts like Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Champawat will experience heavy rain accompanied by cyclone. Wind gusts up to 80 km/h are expected in these districts. Besides, districts like Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh will also record heavy shower and wind speed up to 40 to 50 km per hour. The same weather condition will prevail in Tehri and Almora districts.
The Met department has dubbed the expected rain spell as pre-monsoon showers.
