Dhami meets Union ministers, seeks support for development of U’khand

 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met a number of union ministers on the second day of his New Delhi visit on Wednesday and sought their help for the development of Uttarakhand.

 In his meeting with Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Dhami requested Singh that the land of defence estates department in Nainital should be handed over to the State for development of parking facilities for tourists and pilgrims. He said that in recent times Nainital which is famous with tourists has become an important religious and spiritual centre. Dhami said that the number of pilgrims visiting Neeb Karori Maharaj ashram has increased tremendously. Since this ashram is located near Nainital, people visiting it stay in Nainital.

He said that parking is a major problem in Nainital. Dhami said that the defence estates department of the Ministry of Defence has a three acre plot in Nainital. He said that the problem of parking in Nainital would be solved if this land is used for parking purposes. The CM said that if a multilevel parking is constructed in this plot located near Nainital Lake then 1500 to 2000 vehicles can be parked here. 

He also congratulated Singh for becoming the Defence minister of the country again. The defence minister assured every possible support to the State government.

Dhami had a hectic day on Wednesday as he also met Union minister and BJP president JP Nadda, union minister Bhupendra Yadav, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla and member of 16th finance commission Arvind Pangadia.  In his meeting with union minister for Forest and Environment Bhupendra Yadav, the CM requested that the process of transfer of 87.0815 hectare of forest land to the State government for expansion of Dehradun airport Jollygrant should be expedited.
