Some people initially protested and could be seen crying near their houses but no major obstruction was caused by them. The officials said that the drive was conducted till 4 PM. The MDDA has demolished 55 structures so far along the Rispana river bed that were constructed after 2016. They informed that the teams will mark more such illegal structures on Friday while checking the documents of those who want the MDDA to recheck their documents. The demolition drive will be resumed on Saturday morning, they added. It is pertinent to mention here that MDDA had marked about 250 structures established along the Rispana river bed for demolition as per the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
