The CM said this while chairing a review meeting of the Transport department at the State secretariat on Tuesday. He told the officers that they should ensure that people do not face problems in applying for licenses and booking slots. He said that Common Service Centres (CCS) should be set up near the Regional Transport Offices and directed the senior officers that they should conduct surprise inspections of the offices associated with public amenities. The CM directed that the department should prepare a clear account of the 10 important works done by it in the last three years and the works it plans to do in the next two years. He said that the people should be made aware about the road safety rules and the online services of the department should be made more practical. The CM said that special focus should be made on strengthening the fleet of buses of the transport corporation. The CNG and electric buses should be made available in sufficient numbers in the routes in the plain areas of the State.
