Senior Congress leader Dhirendra Pratap has requested chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to order a judicial probe into the death of a Tehri Garhwal resident Ranveer Singh Rawat who allegedly was brutally beaten up by Police. He later died in Dehradun jail.
In a statement the Congress leader said that on one hand the BJP government of Uttarakhand is making false claims of zero tolerance and on the other the Police is acting in a very irresponsible manner and innocent citizens are being beaten brutally.
Demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased, Pratap said that a criminal case should be filed against the Policemen responsible for the death of Ranveer Singh Rawat.
