KU VC meets celebrated scientist Govardhan Mehta

The Kumaun University’s vice-chancellor Prof Diwan Singh Rawat met the renowned chemist and Padma Shri scientist Prof Govardhan Mehta during which Rawat made Mehta aware of the progress and innovations made by Kumaun University.
Notably, Prof Mehta was the director of the Indian Institute of Science and former VC of the University of Hyderabad. He has written more than 500 research papers and received over 40 honorary doctorate degrees from India. Besides, he delivered more than 300 invited lectures in universities/institutions around the world. He was also a member of the Prime Minister’s Scientific Advisory Council and the Cabinet’s Scientific Advisory Committee.
Prof Mehta said that the innovations being made in Kumaun University are commendable and other universities should also make such efforts and experiments in their institutions.
