Haridwar DM and SSP review Manglaur by-election arrangements

The Haridwar district magistrate and district election officer Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal and senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobhal reviewed the preparations of Manglaur by-elections scheduled to be held on Wednesday. As per the police data, The Haridwar district has been divided into four zones and 14 sectors in view of the elections. There are a total of 64 polling centres in Manglaur in which there are 132 polling stations. Out of 132, 45 are identified as sensitive polling booths. In his address to the police personnel, Forest department, paramilitary forces, Home Guards, Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) and others deployed in election duty, the DM asked them to work together to ensure the election is held in a fair, safe and fear-free manner. All those deployed for security purposes must discharge their duties with great efficiency and pay special attention to the security of the electronic voting machine. “We all have to ensure that we all carry out our respective responsibilities efficiently. Besides ensuring the voting process as per the law, maintaining peace and order should also be a top priority. The personnel concerned must inform about the presence of unruly elements they notice in the polling booths to their senior officer in time to take action accordingly in the matter,” DM said. The SSP also said in his address that all officers and personnel deployed in election duty must carry out their duties without any external influence or pressure from anybody. He asked all personnel and officers to work in discipline and maintain efficient coordination with others while carrying out security duties, especially while carrying the EVM machine safely to the strong room with their respective teams. He also informed that four gazetted officers, one inspector, three sub-inspectors, 14 additional sub-inspectors, 15 head constables, 120 constables, 161 home guards, 101 PRD personnel, one PAC company, and three companies of paramilitary forces send by the Centre will be deployed in the district for fair election.
