The Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC and Champawat superintendent of police Ajay Ganpati visited the areas affected by heavy rain on Monday. Manjunath reached Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar to review relief and rescue work as flood like situations were observed in the area after incessant rainfall. He reached the flooded areas on a raft and also carried out rescue work with the teams. He said that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Water Police and local police have been working to rescue people and shift them to safer places. Ganpati also visited affected areas, roads and national highways as several routes are blocked in Champawat for the past few days due to incessant rainfall. This has affected the traffic movement across the district. He directed the officials concerned to take measures to resume traffic on routes as soon as possible.
