In latest news from Uttarakhand, the parking woes of the tourists coming to Nainital in their hordes from across the country are likely to end as the Centre’s nod may be obtained soon to convert the King Mahmudabad’s enemy property in Nainital into a multi-storey parking lot with 500 cars parking capacity. Decks have been cleared for the long-awaited project after a team led by a senior officer from the office of the custodian of the enemy property for India and comprising senior Union home department officers inspected the property.
The Nainital district magistrate Vandana said that the Central team had visited the property as a prelude to issuance of no-objection from the Central Government. After the formalities are completed, the erstwhile enemy property would house a multi-storey parking lot, cafeteria and an amusement park for tourists, she added.
