State Allied & Healthcare Council to come up in U’khand

The State government had decided to constitute the State Allied and Healthcare Council (SAHC) for improving the quality of the health services in the State. The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat gave instructions to the officers for setting up SAHC in the State under the National commission for allied and healthcare profession act while chairing a review meeting of the Health department at the State secretariat on Thursday.
The minister said that SAHC will have a chairman and 30 members (seven permanent, 22 temporary). He said that the council will not only help in improving the health sector but will also create new opportunities for those in the business of healthcare. The minister claimed that the council will also ensure high quality services in the paramedical field. Rawat said that all the entrepreneurs in the healthcare sector will have to register themselves in the council and its permission will be necessary for opening any institute of medical education.
The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Uttarakhand medical education university Dr ML Brahm Bhatt, secretary health R Rajesh Kumar, additional secretary Anand Srivastava, Amandeep Kaur, Namami Bansal, director general health Dr Tara Arya, director medical education Dr Ashutosh Sayana and others attended the meeting.
