In latest news from Doon, launching a blistering attack on the BJP for propping up a second Kedarnath Dham in Delhi, the State Congress senior vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana said that the saffron party must face the consequences of trashing the spiritual significance of the one and only Kedarnath shrine. “They are evoking Sanatan Dharma day in and day out and at the same time belittling the importance of Kedarnath Dham. They seem to be bent on adding a sixth Kedar to the existing, scripture-supported five Kedars. My question is: who are they to go against the scriptures and foist the sixth Kedar on the dharma-abiding people?” he said.
Taking a swipe at the State chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Dhasmana said that his participation in the foundation laying ceremony of the sixth Kedar meant his support to the initiative. “This, despite his knowledge that the installation of the sixth Kedar runs counter to the teaching of the Vedas and Puranas,” the Congress leader said.
