Yoga Guru Ramdev said that if he does not mind revealing his identity, ‘Rehman’ too should not have any objection to revealing his identity. He said this following objections being raised by some politicians and others to the guidelines issued by the administration for vendors and owners of eateries on the Kanwad Yatra route to display the name of the owner of the business.
Speaking at the programme organised to mark Guru Purnima at the Patanjali Yogpeeth on Sunday he said, “Various religions and ideologies like materialism, intellectual terrorism, religious terrorism and others such aspects have been exposed due to different reasons across the world. Everybody is looking towards Bharat at such a time. India will give a new direction to the world in education, medicine, family, economic, social and political life. We should inculcate the elements of Yoga, the Vedas and Sanatan Dharma in our lives and actions. There should be nothing in our behaviour which dents the traditions of our Guru, Rishis, Vedas and Sanatan heritage.”
Regarding the guidelines issued for verification by the administration for the Kanwad Yatra, Ramdev said, “When Ramdev doesn’t have any problem with disclosing his identity, why should ‘Rehman’ have any problem? Everybody takes pride in one’s name. There is no need to hide one’s name. Instead one should bring purity and sacredness in one’s work. The Kanwad Yatris should also imbibe the nature of Lord Shiva which should reflect in their behaviour.” Regarding the recent controversy around construction of Kedarnath temple in Delhi, he said that there is no alternative to the ancient and major pilgrimage sites. “No human can make any Dham which have been made by god. The decision taken by the Uttarakhand government to prevent the misuse of the names of the Char Dham is an appreciable move,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna exhorted all to resolve to lead their lives on the basis of the lives of their ancestors. Referring to the Kanwad Yatra he said, “The Kanwadias are undertaking a penance and their speech and behaviour should reflect self-control. Devotion and faith should not entail defiance or causing problems to others,” he said.
