Ra Ga slams budget as govt saving attempt

While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Union Budget as a herald for better growth and a bright future, the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi lambasted it as a desperate save government attempt.
“The Budget will act as a catalyst in making India the third-largest economy in the world while laying a solid foundation for a developed India,” he said after the Budget was presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He further said that the Budget has its focus on the youth, backward sections, women and middle class. It would boost manufacturing and infrastructure sectors besides generating crores of new jobs, he added.
Gandhi, on the other hand, ripped into the Centre, saying that it had sought to appease allies at the cost of other States to save the government from imminent collapse.
The Congress also slammed the Budget as more rhetoric than action.
