BJP playing with religious sentiments on Kedarnath: Mahara

The Kedarnath Pratishta Raksha Yatra led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara reached Shivpuri on Thursday.  The Yatra to Kedarnath Dham started from Har Ki Paidi in Haridwar on Thursday and after a night halt at Rishikesh, it commenced further at 8 am on Thursday. The PCC president paid glowing tributes to Sridev Suman on his death anniversary before starting his foot march from Rishikesh. He said that Suman set up Prajanamandal in Tehri against the feudal system. He also undertook a marathon 84 days long hunger strike against the princely state of Tehri.

The PCC president said that the BJP government is fiddling with the honour of Kedarnath Dham. He said that the foundation stone laying ceremony of Kedarnath Dham in Delhi has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Mahara said that the followers of the Sanatan dharma are agitated and are questioning as to how some temple can take the place of Kedareshwar Jyotirlinga. He said that the Teerth purohits are raising questions about the gold which is missing from Kedarnath. Mahara said that the Congress party has consistently demanded that a high level inquiry should be ordered in the issue. He said that when Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand questioned about the missing gold from Kedarnath Dham, the BJP leaders insulted him. He said that the BJP government has failed on all the fronts in Uttarakhand.

The PCC president said that the parents of Ankita Bhandari have not yet got justice. Series of paper leaks and recruitment scams have made the unemployed desperate and in most of the scams the involvement of BJP leaders is clear. MLAs Mamta Rakesh and Manoj Tiwari, former MLAs Ranjit Rawat, Om Gopal Rawat, Lalit Pharswan, president of Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela, senior leaders Dhirendra Pratap, Mahendra Negi,  Jayendra Ramola and others took part in  the Yatra on Thursday.
