The 26th foundation day of Shri Venkateshwara University was celebrated on Saturday in its both Meerut and Gajraula campuses through blood donation camps, tree plantation, yagya and cultural programmes. Senior functionaries of the university, teachers, students and staff members participated in the commemorative programmes in large numbers.
Addressing the inaugural programme, the chairman of Venkateshwara Group, Sudhir Giri dwelt on the evolution of the university from a sapling into a large leafy banyan tree while fulfilling the rising expectations of the students and their parents and receiving spontaneous assistance from the common people in a span of just two and half decades. The pro-chancellor Rajeev Tyagi ascribed the institution’s growth to inculcation of the ideal teacher-taught relation based on the best educational traditions, wide-ranging academic research and the application of such researches in enriching the collective life.
