Amit Shah talks to CM on Kedar Valley disaster

With at least 18 people having perished in the recent rain-triggered disasters in some parts of Uttarakhand, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a telephonic talk with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and took stock of the rescue and relief operations. While apprising Shah of the administrative measures taken by his government in helping the affected people, he said that the operations were being conducted on a war footing.
He further said in his post on social media that Shah had directed the State government to evacuate the trapped pilgrims if situations warranted that and added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been monitoring the developing disaster situation in the State.
Notably, the Indian Air Force deployed Chinook and Mi 17 helicopters in Uttarakhand to evacuate the disaster-affected people.
