SDRF finds body during search operation in Kedarnath

The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) found a body during their ongoing search operations in Kedarnath on Monday. The officials said that two teams were sent in a detailed drone search in the areas of Badi Lincholi, Choti Lincholi and Bhimbali-Gaurikund. During this extensive operation, the team discovered a body in the Lincholi area beneath rocks and informed the Rudraprayag district police. The deceased has been identified as Gautam (21), a resident of Yamunanagar area in Haryana. The officials informed that the search operations on the Kedarnath pilgrimage route continue relentlessly, now with additional support from the SDRF Dog Squad, which was dispatched from the SDRF headquarters.The SDRF teams conducted extensive search and rescue operations across a five kilometres radius with the help of drones on Monday. The officials informed that the SDRF teams have rescued over 6,000 pilgrims from the Kedarnath valley via footpaths so far. The SDRF team also rescued 250 pilgrims from Lincholi to Bhimbali and 586 pilgrims from Gaurikund-Munkatia, safely escorting them to Sonprayag. The officials said that the operation is being meticulously conducted with the support of drone technology to ensure no area is left unsearched. The officials informed that for the past five days, over 60 personnel from five SDRF teams have been engaged in continuous rescue operations, helped by drone-assisted searches in the Gaurikund and Lincholi areas. Besides this, two more teams from Agastyamuni and Ratuda have been deployed for search and rescue work, the officials added
