SDRF recovers bodies of two young men from river in Pauri

Two young men drowned in a river near Kot village in Pauri late on Monday. The officials said that the Pauri district control room alerted the search and rescue team of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) about the incident on Monday at about 11 PM. The SDRF team reached the site and recovered the body of one of the victims within a few hours and handed it over to the district police. The officials informed that the search for the second victim was resumed on Tuesday morning. The SDRF team continued its efforts and recovered the second body by the afternoon and handed it over to the police for further proceedings. Officials said that the deceased were identified as Ravindra Singh (20) and Priyanshu Singh (18). Both were residents of Khadet village in Pauri. Following the incident, the SDRF commandant Manikant Mishra appealed to people to avoid going near water bodies during the monsoon season even if it is not raining in their area, as it can lead to such fatal accidents.
