The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has said that the decision of the state government to resume helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham and offer 25 per cent rebate in the Heli fares is immature and deplorable. She said that the conditions are not favourable in the State as incidents of landslide, cloud burst and heavy rains are occurring in different parts of the State. The NDRF, SDRF and Army are pressed into the relief and rescue works and as per the reports the State has so far incurred a loss of more than Rs 100 crore. “Many roads have been washed away. Large scale destruction has occurred and in such a situation the priority of the government should be to reduce the loss to life and property. In such a situation the decision of the State government to resume helicopter services appears suicidal,’’ she said.

Dasauni said that today 80 per cent of the energy and capacity of the administration is concentrated on monitoring, administration and coordination of disaster affected areas. She said that the development activities and other routine works are affected. Dasauni said that the government appeared confused in its decisions from the start of the Char Dham Yatra and the mismanagement on part of the government derailed the Yatra.
