Cambrian Hall hosts 35th Maharaja Judha Shumshere memorial inter-school debate

Cambrian Hall hosted the 35th Maharaja Judha Shumshere Memorial Inter-School English Debate 2024 on Saturday with enthusiastic participation of students of several schools. While Madhu Gurung was the guest of honour of the event the panel of judges comprised Bidyut Bose, Indrani Pandhi and Reena Godi. The topic of the debate was: ‘It is better bending than risk breaking’.
Senior functionaries of Cambrian Hall said that the participating schools included The Doon School, Wynberg Allen, St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Thomas College, Ann Mary School, Grace Academy, Tons Bridge School, Summer Valley School, Asian School, Heritage School, Hilton School, Seven Oaks School, and Shigally Hills International Academy. They further said that this year’s competition featured an extempore debate in the Oxford format. The director of Cambrian Hall Sonam Rana and the principal Samuel Jaideep were present during the debate.
