Rs 5013.05 crore supplementary budget tabled in Vidhan Sabha

Finance minister Prem Chand Agarwal tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 5013.05 crore for the ongoing financial year in the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha here on Thursday. This includes Rs 3,756.89 crore under revenue head and Rs 1,256.16 crore under the capital head. Agarwal said that the State government is dedicated to public welfare. He said that important provisions have been made for many social welfare schemes in the supplementary budget.
A Rs 718.40 crore provision has been made in the budget for State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) under the Disaster Management department. Similarly a provision of Rs 218.60 crore has been made for SDMF and Rs 20 crore as additional allocation to district magistrates for repair and reconstruction works of assets damaged by disaster. A provision of Rs 748.81 crore is made in the supplementary budget for major construction activities to meet supplementary demands. Similarly, a provision of Rs 406.61 crore has been made for Housing and Urban Development department. The minister said that a provision of Rs 25 crore has been made for virtual registration scheme under the Stamps and Registrations department. Similarly, a sum of Rs 15 crore is provided for the revolving fund of dairy development project.
In other business of the day the Parliamentary Affairs minister Agarwal tabled the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipality Act, 1916) Amendment Bill 2024, Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation) Amendment Bill 2024, Uttarakhand Prisons and Correctional Services Bill, Uttarakhand Recovery of Damages to Public and Private Property Bill 2024, Uttarakhand State Sports University Bill 2024, Uttarakhand State Vidhan Sabha Miscellaneous (Amendment ) Bill 2024 , Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh) Zamindari Abolition and Land Management Bill 2024.
At the start of second day of the session, the leader of opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya demanded discussion on law and order situation in the State under rule 310. However, the speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri ordered that the discussion on the issue will be held under rule 58. The Congress members held a protest outside the Vidhan Sabha building on misuse of government agencies for harassing leaders of opposition. The LoP Arya said that the Hindenburg report reveals that the SEBI chief has business interests in the Adani group.
