Assembly passes supplementary budget & six bills, two bills sent to select committee

The monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha was adjourned sine die by the speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri on Friday. Amid a walkout by the members of the opposition Congress, the Assembly passed a supplementary budget of Rs 5013.05 crore. It also passed six bills and sent two bills to the select committee of the house. In the supplementary budget, a provision of Rs 3,756.89 crore has been made under revenue head and Rs 1,256.16 crore under the capital head. The day was marked by a walkout by the members of the Congress party on the issue of discussion on disaster.
The house passed the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipality Act, 1916) Amendment Bill 2024, Uttarakhand Prisons and Correctional Services Bill, Uttarakhand Recovery of Damages to Public and Private Property Bill 2024, Uttarakhand State Sports University Bill 2024, Uttarakhand State Vidhan Sabha Mmiscellaneous (Amendment) Bill 2024, Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh) Zamindari Abolition and Land Management Bill 2024 on the day. However, it sent the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation 1959) Amendment Bill 2024 and the State University Bill, Uttarakhand- 2023 to the select committee of the Vidhan Sabha.
