In latest news from Doon, to mark the National Sports Day, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the sports minister Rekha Arya felicitated several players at the multipurpose sports complex at Parade Ground in Dehradun.
On this occasion, three sportspersons who participated in the recently concluded Paris Olympics-Ankita Dhyani, Paramjeet Singh Bisht and Suraj Panwar were presented with Rs 50 lakh each. This aside, 269 national level players, 65 international level players and 58 coaches of different categories of sports were felicitated. Plus, 3900 rising sports stars were provided with assistance sums.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister recounted the unprecedented initiatives his government has taken to enhance the sports superstructure in the State. He stressed on the identified players being trained appropriately.
