In latest news from Doon, the State cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi is going to inaugurate six-day Silk Expo here on September 10. The Central Silk Board, the Union ministry of textiles and the silk department of Uttarakhand are jointly hosting this expo-Silk Mark Expo 2024- where over 50 silk artisans from 15 states will pitch stalls to showcase their silk products.
Informing this, the managing director of the Uttarakhand cooperative silk federation limited Anand A D Shukla said that such exhibition benefit both the silk artisans and the potential buyers of their products. “The artisans get the opportunity to showcase their products on a single platform while the customers are benefited as the prices of silk products showcased at Expo are much lower than in the open markets,” he added.
