Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh said that Swami Ram Teerth, the conscious sentinel of Indian society, introduced the entire human race to the noble feelings of patriotism, socialist ideology, upliftment of women, measures to prevent population growth and other aspects. He went abroad and preached Indian culture and spiritualism. The Rajya Sabha deputy chairman said this after releasing a book written by journalist Vinod Chamoli on the life of Swami Ram Teerth at the Swami Ram Teerth campus of the Garhwal university in Chamba on Tuesday. He said that during the period when the nation was enslaved, Swami Ram Teerth awakened the feeling of nationalism among the people as an Indian freedom fighter. At the same time, with the idea of instilling true nationalism among Indians, he sounded the conch shell which will echo across this world for centuries, he said. Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyaya said that Swami Ram Teerth, by becoming the messiah of humanity, introduced the society to practical Vedanta and by giving the right guidance, led it towards great welfare. Vice chancellor of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, NK Joshi said that Swami Ram Teerth awakened the flame of patriotism and spirituality in the society. He preached the true Vedanta in foreign countries, the MLA said.
