Red warning- extremely heavy rain likely in Dehradun & six other districts today

The State meteorological centre has issued a red warning (Take Action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at a few places with very heavy to extremely heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/very intense to extremely intense spells of rain at isolated places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Thursday.
The meteorological centre has also issued an orange alert (Be Prepared) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain/ thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora and Pithoragarh districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
