The CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury is no more. He breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi following prolonged illness. He was 72. The Marxist leader had been critical for the last few days and was kept on respiratory support. According to the CPI-M sources, the veteran leader died at 3.05 pm. He was admitted to the hospital on August 19 for treatment of a pneumonia-like chest infection.
