In latest news from Uttarakhand, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) the objective behind which was stated to improve collective awareness in the field of space, strengthen technological capabilities and take science and technology forward together. ARIES director Prof Dipankar Banerjee and the general manager BEL Rashmi Kathuria signed the contract at the BEL office in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Prof Banerjee said that with the country moving apace in the field of space, the time is not far-off when India would become self-reliant in the field of space technology and operation.
