Health department to upgrade 12 health units to sub district hospitals

Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the health services in the mountainous areas of Yatra routes will be strengthened. The minister held a review meeting of the health department at his residence on Tuesday. In the meeting Rawat held discussion with the officers of the department on filling the vacant posts and extension of the health services in the State. He said that in an endeavor to improve services in mountainous areas and Yatra routes the government intends to upgrade the existing health units into sub district hospitals.  Rawat directed the officers to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of a dozen sub district hospitals and present it to the State administration for release of necessary budget. 

The minister said that orders to fill 632 vacant posts of ANMs, CHOs and nursing officers have been given to the officers of the department in the meeting. He informed that 44 posts of nursing officers and 197 posts of CHOs will be filled from the waiting list of the recruitment process held earlier this year. Rawat said that 391 posts of ANMs will be filled on the basis of year-wise seniority. He said that the vacant p[posts of technicians and ward boys will also be filled soon.

 In the meeting the minister gave directives for timely supply of medicines and equipment in the hospitals and reducing response time of 108 emergency ambulance service.

Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar, mission director of National Health Mission Swati Bhadauria, Health additional secretaries Anuradha Pal and Namami Bansal, director general health services Dr Tara Arya and others attended the meeting.
