85 MBBS seats of govt medical college Haridwar included in the State counselling

 After the approval given by the National Medical Council (NMC) to the government medical college, Haridwar, the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University will include 85 seats of the State quota of this college in the third round of the centralised State counselling slated on October 9 for admission in the medical colleges of the State. The NMC has approved 100 seats for the first year course of MBBS for the government medical college Haridwar for the session 2024-25.  As per the rules 15 per cent of the seats in a government medical college are reserved for central quota (central counselling) while 85 per cent are filled by the State quota from the NEET score.  

The controller of examinations of the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University,  Vijay Juyal said that the last date for depositing the fee for the students of the second round of counseling is October 5 and thereafter the third round of the counseling will be held on October 9. He said that the students who have already got admission in other government colleges can also opt for the Haridwar medical college.

At present there are four government medical colleges in Uttarakhand. These are government medical college Dehradun (150 seats), government medical college Srinagar (150 seats), government medical college Haldwani (125 seats) and Government medical college Almora (100 seats). Now after the approval given by the NMC, government medical college Haridwar will be the fifth government medical college in the State.
