In latest news from Doon, after the management of a private school in Uttarkashi lodged a case at police station against a clerk, charging her with embezzling Rs 1. 09 crore collected in the name of student fees, the police arrested the accused accountant. The management further said that she had made fake receipts for collecting the fees.
On receipt of the complaint, the SP Uttarkashi Amit Srivastava ordered an impartial inquiry. The police station in-charge started probe. The probe team talked to the students and guardians aside from checking receipts, registers and bank statements. Police said that the fraud had started in 2017 and they were investigating whether any other person was involved in it.
