DSA-hosted first inter-school badminton tourney commences

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the first inter-school badminton tournament, being organised by the district sports association (DSA), was kicked off in the presence of the outgoing civic body president Sachin Negi. According to DSA’s indoor game secretary Virendra Shah, Saumya Joshi, a student of Hermann Minor School, won the final match by defeating Saanvi Sharma, a student of Parvati Prema Jagati Saraswati Vihar, in a tough final match in the sub-junior category.  In the girls’ junior category, Lavanya Rawat, a student of Mohan Lal Sah Girls School, won the final match by defeating Jayanti Bisht, a student of All Saints, in straight sets.

In the girls’ junior doubles, the pair of Jayti Bisht and Vibhu Shah of All Saints won the doubles match by defeating the pair of Anjali and Vaishnavi of Government Girls Inter College. In the girls’ senior category, Shriddhi Bisht, a student of Mohan Lal Sah Balika Vidya Mandir, won the final match by defeating Jijivisha of All Saints. In the girls’ doubles, the pair of Lavanya and Shriddhi won the final by defeating the pair of Disha and Himani, students of BBharatiya Shaheed Sainik Vidyalaya.
