In a move to stop the practice of begging, home guard personnel are to be deployed at 17 major intersections across Dehradun, the district magistrate Savin Bansal said on Saturday. These include Dilaram Chowk, Kargi Chwok, Sai Mandir Rajpur Road, railway station, Saharanpur Chowk, Prince Chowk, Tehsil Chowk, ISBT, Shimla Bypass and Rispana bridge. The DM further directed all departments concerned to work in coordination to free the child beggars from begging. He also stressed on formal education be provided to these children.
