Actor Paresh Rawal meets DG Information on film shoot

Bollywood’s eminent film actor Paresh Rawal met the director general, Information and chief executive officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) Banshidhar Tiwari on the set for the upcoming film ‘Past Tense’ directed by Anant Narayan Mahadevan on Dehradun- Mussoorie road. The joint director Information and joint chief executive officer Nitin Upadhyay was also present on the occasion.

A social family drama film, ‘Past Tense’ is being made under the banner of Flying Stones Films while the actors playing role in it include Paresh Rawal, Aditya Rawal, Adil Hussain, Sharib Hashmi and Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Speaking of the new film policy rolled out by the State government, Tiwari said that it includes significant amount of grant for films with the web series released on OTT platform having been included. He further said that as per the instructions of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government is fully committed to the development of every sector of film production. “The State government is promoting new activities of direct employment through film production as well as promoting tourism. This new film policy also has a provision to promote untouched shooting destinations across Uttarakhand. UFDC is engaged in identifying new shooting destinations. We are for promoting relatively less known tourist places through film shoots,” he said.

Rawal told Tiwari he had recently completed the shooting of two of his Bollywood films in Uttarakhand whose post-production work is still going on and they are on the verge of release. He also hailed
the single window system being implemented by UFDC and said that due to the simplicity of all types of shooting permission process, Uttarakhand is emerging as a film friendly destination for Bollywood and other States of the country.
