FDA to waive off registration fee of food vendors in U’khand

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) department has decided to implement the order of the Union government in which fee waiver will be given to the street food vendors seeking food licenses.
The Commissioner FDA, R Rajesh Kumar said that the department charges annual fees from the food vendors and recently the union government has decided to give an exemption to the vendors from the registration fees. He said that the date of registration fee exemption has become effective in the State from September 28. Kumar added that the department has also decided to give food licenses for a period of five years.
The Commissioner informed that in view of the ongoing festival season the department has decided to undertake an extensive campaign in the State. Kumar said that on the orders of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and health minister Dhan Singh Rawat the department has undertaken a drive against food adulteration.
He said that the samples of food items are being collected by the department in all parts of the State. Kumar averred that strict action will be taken against the guilty. He said that during the festival season the cases of food adulteration increase.
The additional commissioner FDA, Tajber Jaggi said that during the drive the food items at all the establishments including malls will be checked. He said that the designated officers have been asked to curtail adulterations.
He said that the objective of the department is to provide pure and adulteration free food products to the consumers.
