Three dead, four minors injured in Pauri accident

Three senior citizens died and four minors sustained injuries after a pickup truck veered off the road and plunged down the mountainside between Rasiya Mahadev and Thakulsari Badi near Thalisain in Pauri on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident occurred around 2 PM when the three deceased, driver Anand Singh (60), Mohan Singh (65) and Arjun Singh (60) were in the vehicle and four school students, Sonu (16), Anurag (14), Aditya (14) and Ayush (11) hitched a lift from them.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to which it veered off the road and fell down the mountainside. The police informed that the bodies of the three men were transported to Bironkhal Hospital with the help of locals. They said that the four children who were passengers in the vehicle were rescued by villagers and sent to the Bironkhal Hospital. One of the injured children was later referred to Ramnagar for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries.
The search and rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also arrived at the accident site and conducted a thorough search of the wrecked vehicle and the surrounding area to ensure no other victims were trapped. The police said that the investigation is ongoing.
