I do not buckle under probe pressure: Harak
PNS/ HALDWANI
In latest news from Uttarakhand, the senior Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat who courts controversies at the drop of his hat threw a dare to the CBI and ED, saying that he could not be cowed down. “I first became a minister when I was 27 and since then I have been in politics. Further, the first CBI probe in Uttarakhand was conducted against me,” he said, referring to the national investigative agencies probing his connection with the alleged unauthorised tree felling for the construction of a Tiger Safari in Pakhro range under Corbett National Park.
Asked about which direction the high-stake Kedarnath bypoll result would go, the maverick leader said that despite the State government pulling out all the stops to retain this seat, the electorate had already decided to elect the Congress candidate Manoj Rawat. “This is going to be a one-sided election,” he averred.
