Responding to the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding the Marchula bus mishap, the Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that all should desist from playing politics on such a tragedy. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt told mediapersons at the party’s State office here on Tuesday that one must avoid politicising a sensitive and tragic incident like the Marchula bus accident. Rejecting the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding negligence in rescue and relief operations following the mishap, he said that rescue efforts were initiated on a war footing as soon as information about the mishap was received by the authorities. The injured were taken to the hospital by ground and by air ambulance. The best medical treatment facilities are being provided to the accident victims, he said. “From the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to all the administrative officials concerned, all reached the site of the mishap and the hospitals to expedite the relief work. Undoubtedly, it is not possible to fill the void left behind by those who have lost their lives in this mishap. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs two lakh each and the State government announced Rs four lakh each for the bereaved families,” Bhatt said.
He further pointed out that considering the tragic bus mishap, all the programmes to be held to mark the State Foundation Day will be held in a sombre manner, which is a welcome decision.
