The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in the Kedarnath by-election Asha Nautiyal, who has been actively campaigning across the constituency, said that she has observed strong public support for the BJP’s development-oriented agenda and expressed confidence that voters will once again favour the party on November 20. She has been visiting areas in Kedarnath such as Kalimath, Kaviltha, Kotma, Khonu, Jaal Malla, Chaumasi, Jaal Talla and Syasu, accompanied by party workers and officials. Nautiyal stated that the BJP’s focus is on highlighting the development work carried out by the central and state governments, which she claims has led to improvements in transportation, education, health, agriculture, irrigation and other vital sectors. Referring to BJP’s win in the 2022 State Assembly elections, she said similar support from the public is visible this time, with many people expressing appreciation for the government’s efforts to enhance local amenities. She emphasised that the BJP’s approach prioritises the welfare of the people, contrasting it with rival parties that, according to her, focus on appeasement politics rather than real progress. She also praised the youth of Chaumasi village, who played a significant role in helping those affected by the July 31 disaster in the Kedarnath Valley, setting up a food camp until road repairs were complete. She cited development projects sanctioned in the area, including a college building in Kotma, a veterinary dispensary and a motor road for Syasu village.
