Temperatures drop but still remain above normal in Doon

The maximum temperature has been dropping by a notch or two consistently during the past few days in Dehradun, even as the temperatures have continued to remain above normal in various parts of the State. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to be experienced in the State on Monday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the temperatures in various parts of the State have continued to remain above normal. The lack of rain and snowfall in the post-monsoon season is stated to be a major reason for the real winter chill not yet setting in despite half of November having passed.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were 27 degrees Celsius aqnd 11.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.7 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.2 degrees Celsius and 4.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.9 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
