Qazi Nizamuddin appointed in- charge of Delhi Congress

The central leadership of the Congress party has assigned the important responsibility of the in- charge of Delhi Congress to senior leader and Manglaur MLA Qazi Nizamuddin. He will replace Deepak Bawaria. His appointment assumes importance in view of the Assembly elections scheduled in Delhi next year. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has also constituted a screening committee of senior leaders for the candidate selection of the party for the Assembly elections. The screening committee will be headed by Meenakshi Natrajan while Lok Sabha MP Imran Masood and Pradeep Narwal will be the members of the committee.
Nizamuddin also holds the responsibility of the secretary of the AICC and had held the post of co- in-charge of Rajasthan Congress in the past.
In the Assembly by-elections held in July this year, Nizamuddin had registered victory from Manglaur constituency.
Interacting with The Pioneer Nizamuddin expressed gratitude to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for showing faith in him. He said that efforts would be made to strengthen the party organization and ensure that the Congress party retains its old glory in Delhi.
